AMY CHAPLEAU-LANE
Accounting Manager & Administration
I’ve been here since July 2016. In my job interview, the role was described as a “Jill-of-all-trades,” and that label is spot on. I bring a strong background in customer service, bookkeeping, HR, and database implementation/management. I support the funeral directors and sales staff by reviewing and processing contracts and payments, preparing sales reports, and reconciling with the finance department. I’m also the person people call to order spring bouquets and holiday greenery, and I organize the annual memorial glow.
Over time, my role has evolved to include assisting the Friends program—managing gift processing, reporting, and reconciliation. I’ve participated in two database conversions, trained staff in their use, and continue to maintain data. When needed, I back up front office staff by handling interment calls and helping visitors with maps.
I appreciate the variety my work provides—even when that variety is unscheduled. Getting to know cemetery families is always rewarding to me, and I find comfort in knowing that my work matters to them. I also value coming to work every day in such a beautiful setting. The landscape is ever evolving, and there is always something new to appreciate.
Outside the office, I spend my time working with and teaching various textile arts, sharing time with my chef husband, Chris, and enjoying life with our four-legged fur children.
