Winter and Spring Holiday Tributes
It has become an annual Bellefontaine tradition for families to adorn loved ones’ graves with fresh evergreen arrangements for the winter holidays, and fresh bouquets for the spring holidays.
Winter Holiday Wreaths
Winter Holiday Wreaths and Swags: Please contact the Cemetery office at 314-381-0750 for current pricing of a fresh evergreen swag or wreath. Each decoration comes mounted on a stand and will be placed at the gravesite on your behalf by Cemetery staff.
Spring Holiday Bouquets
Spring Holiday Bouquets: We offer beautiful, fresh floral bouquets for placement at the gravesite for spring holidays.

Fresh Floral Arrangements & Ordering
If you’d like to honor your loved one with an individual arrangement hand-delivered to the gravesite by our Cemetery staff, you may choose to order fresh flowers or plants directly through our partnership with our recommended florist Walter Knoll Florist.
To preserve the beauty of our grounds for all visitors, we kindly request that only fresh-cut flowers, greens, and potted plants are placed on graves and lots.
Grave Decoration Policies
To maintain a serene, natural environment for all visitors, specific rules govern the placement and duration of decorations. Please note: Artificial flowers are generally not permitted anywhere in the Cemetery. Permitted
Fresh-cut flowers, greens, and potted plants are permitted and encouraged (limit one arrangement per gravespace).
Non-Permitted Décor
Artificial flowers and plants (except as noted below), glass and ceramic objects, balloons, pinwheels, political signs, and oversized decorations are subject to immediate removal.
Exceptions
- American Flags honoring veterans are permitted.
- Artificial Wreaths/Swags are permitted only for the winter holiday season and must be collected by January 15th.
Holiday Removal
Any decorations placed for holidays (other than the winter holiday exception) will be removed by BCA on the Sunday following the holiday.
Columbaria
Flowers and plants are permitted in columbaria only in attached vases that are approved by the Cemetery.
Liability
BCA is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items left at a grave, nor for damage to markers or mausoleums caused by decorations secured to the structures.
Special Services and Monument Care
Natural Burial Floral Arrangements
For families selecting a Green/Natural Burial, all floral tributes must adhere to environmental guidelines. This typically means unwrapped, natural flowers or greens that can be placed in the grave without any plastic, metal, or other non-biodegradable components. Our licensed funeral directors will work with our Horiculture team in arranging all flowers to meet the natural burial specifications.
Monument Cleaning and Restoration
The monuments, statuary, and other architectural features of a gravesite or lot can require significant care over the years to remove lichens or pollution residues. Bellefontaine can wash and reset monuments, as well as provide more intensive repair work if needed. Each arrangement is made on a case-by-case basis.
