DANIEL FULLER
Cemetery Chronicler
As Cemetery Chronicler at Bellefontaine Cemetery & Arboretum, I serve as the steward of its rich historical narrative and archival legacy. I began as a Master Guide volunteer in 2012 and then moved into staff roles starting in 2014 (including Volunteer and Event Coordinator), before ultimately assuming the newly created position of Cemetery Chronicler in 2024. A native St. Louisan with a lifelong passion for history, I bring decades of personal genealogical research and a deep commitment to preserving Bellefontaine’s more than 175 years of cultural significance. From tracing family roots back to the era of the Salem Witch Trials to chronicle present-day cemetery events for future generations, my work ensures Bellefontaine remains a vital component of St. Louis’s heritage.
Outside the office, I have held leadership positions with the Professional Tour Guide Association of St. Louis and the 1904 World’s Fair Society. I continue to volunteer as a neighborhood tour guide and as a guide at the Missouri Botanical Garden. My favorite part of the cemetery isn’t a single monument or tree—it’s the people: the lives of the past, the colleagues of the present, and the community that surrounds Bellefontaine. Whether I’m curating archival materials or sharing stories with visitors, I am passionate about positioning Bellefontaine as not just a final resting place, but as a dynamic cultural institution—ever evolving, always relevant.
