1904 World's Fair Trolley Tour at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum
All aboard the Bellefontaine Trolley for a special 1904 World’s Fair Trolley Tour! From David R. Francis to Isaac Taylor, this guided tour will spotlight the influential individuals who helped shape the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, held in Forest Park from April 30 through December 1, 1904.
Just shy of 20 million visitors attended the World’s Fair, and some even traveled to Bellefontaine Cemetery to pay homage to individuals directly connected to the new American territory acquired in 1803.
Join us for a fascinating journey through history as we explore the people, stories, and legacy of one of the most significant events in St. Louis' history.
Tour Notes:
- Seating is limited and tickets are required.
- There is a limit of four RSVP per registering individual. For groups larger than four, we suggest setting up a private tour. Call the Cemetery office at 314-381-0750.
- We ask that everyone arrive at least 15 minutes early for a prompt departure.
- The trolley is climate controlled, but weather-appropriate clothing is suggested as opportunities to disembark from the vehicle are available.
Trolley tour tickets are free with a suggested donation of $5 each. You may also make a gift at the event. Your gift allows us to cover trolley expenses. Proceeds support the Friends of Bellefontaine and benefit the Cemetery’s community support programs like Angels Rest, historic preservation, and educational tours.
