Join us our Second Annual Arboretum: Fall Field Day event!
We invite you to join us for our Second Annual Arboretum Fall Field Day on Saturday, October 24! This special day will celebrate trees, community, and learning in our beautiful Level III Accredited Arboretum.
Guests can enjoy live demonstrations on tree care techniques such as planting, pruning, watering, and identification, led by our professional horticulture staff and partners from local community forestry organizations. We’ll also offer guided walking tours through the Arboretum to showcase our diverse collection of trees and highlight the beauty of the fall season.
In addition to the demonstrations and tours, every registered attendee will receive a free tree sapling to take home and plant, helping us grow the urban forest beyond our gates!
Event Schedule
- 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Event Open, Vendor Booths, and Free Tree Sapling Giveaway
- 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Horticulture Demonstrations and Guided Tours
Guided Walking Tours (50-minute tours | Registration required)
10:00 a.m. – Wildwood Valley Garden Tour
Join Horticulturist Payton Sullivan for a tour of the trees and shrubs in our formal garden area, Wildwood Valley Garden. You’ll see many trees and shrubs that are perfect for the home landscape.
11:00 a.m. – BIG Trees Tour
Join Horticulturist Andy Clubb for a tour of the BIG trees along the western boundary of the Arboretum, where we are diversifying our tree collection following the removal of declining mature trees.
12:00 p.m. – Cultivated Trees & Shrubs Tour
Join Director of Horticulture James Faupel for a unique tour highlighting cultivated trees and shrubs (cultivars) within the garden area.
1:00 p.m. – Wildwood Valley Garden Tour
Join Horticulturist Payton Sullivan for a tour of the trees and shrubs in our formal garden area, Wildwood Valley Garden. You’ll see many trees and shrubs that are perfect for the home landscape.
2:00 pm – BIG Trees Tour
Join Horticulturist Andy Clubb for a tour of the BIG trees along the western boundary of the Arboretum, where we are diversifying our tree collection following the removal of declining mature trees.
Registration Details
- Admission: Registration is free, but space is limited to 220 total attendees.
- Waiver Required: All registered attendees must sign a liability waiver prior to participating.
- Tour Selection: If you wish to participate in one of the guided walking tours, please select the corresponding GA + Tour ticket option at checkout. Tour spots are limited to 30 participants per time slot.
